Chavez is a Navy SEAL in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Afghanistan alongside Trevante Cole.

Contact with aliens[]
Chavez is stationed at a combat outpost in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, when his unit loses contact with another squad and goes searching for them. They arrive at a village, where the villagers point them towards a school. And from the school, they go to the squad's last known whereabouts, where they come into contact with unearthly resistance.[1]
Recovered by Trevante[]
After their encounter with the aliens, Chavez somehow ends up in the basement of a medical clinic. Trevante manages to track him down and carry him back to the truck, all while under enemy fire.[2]
Chavez' body is taken back to camp by Trevante and buried nearby.[3]
